Wizards Sign Beal

Wizards first round draft pick Bradley Beal has officially signed with the Washington Wizards. Michael Lee reported this evening that he has signed his rookie scale contract.

The way the contract is configured is not up for negotiation. He has a two-year contract worth $7 million and then the Wizards have options for the next two years after that. Once the two-year $7 million part has been finished, the dollar amount for the contract may be reconfigured. Should the Wizards want to keep him following the first two years, they may pick up the option and he will remain a Wizard.

Beal, the third overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, is expected to compliment John Wall very well. He is a good shooter that shoots well off the screen. He can also put the ball on the floor and create if he has to. He averaged 14.8 points per game in one season with the Florida Gators.

He will join current Wizards Jan Vesely, Chris Singleton, and Shelvin Mack, and 2012 second round draft pick Tomas Satoransky on Monday in Las Vegas when the Wizards begin their four-day mini-camp to prepare for the NBA Summer League.
