Riggleman Out As Nats Manager

Just minutes after the Nationals complete a three game sweep of the Mariners, manager Jim Riggleman resigns as Nationals manager.

In a brief write up by the Washington Post, all Riggleman wanted was for the clubs management to pick his option for 2012. Riggleman expressed his want and desire to manage the Nationals. All he wanted was for his option to be resolved.

“Jim told me pregame today that if we wouldn’t pick up his [contract] option that he wouldn’t get on the team bus today,” Rizzo said at a news conference after the Nationals defeated the Seattle Mariners.
