He played in 67 games for the Toronto Maple Leafs last season and scored 11 goals, 26 points, and 33 penalty minutes. Last season was his first full NHL season since turning pro in 2006.
Crabb brings a little of everything to the table. He can score, play defense, kill penalties, you name it and he's willing to do it. The Capitals didn't have to spend too much to acquire the 29 year old so this is a good signing for them. They picked up a solid utility man that is willing to do just about anything for the good of the team.
"When everybody's happy and playing well he'll likely be on the fourth line and killing penalties, but when the team is in search of different looks he'll be able to step into many different roles," said Crabbs agent, Kevin Epp, in a phone interview with Katie Carrera. "As he has proved in Toronto, he's versatile and can move up and down the lineup - wherever he's needed."
